The last two officers facing administrative charges in the fatal shooting of an unarmed 18-year-old in 2012 resolved their cases just before Christmas through agreements with the NYPD, thereby avoiding departmental trials that would have been open to the public.
The mother of the teen, Ramarley Graham, expressed frustration at the way the department handled the incident, in which her son was shot by an officer who had been told incorrectly that the youth was carrying a gun.
