Registration for the FDNY’s firefighter exam has been delayed by more than three months, a department spokesperson confirmed last week. The FDNY requested that it be rescheduled to give it more time to plan and execute a recruitment push, even though the firefighter’s test is among the most popular.
The registration period was initially scheduled from Mar. 6 to May 21, with the exam administered over the summer. Registration will now open on June 24 with the test scheduled for sometime in the fall, according to the Department of Citywide Administrative Services, the city agency responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training municipal employees.
