A former Correction Officer at Rikers Island was convicted by a Federal jury Dec. 15 of kicking to death an inmate in the infirmary unit, telling him, “This is what you get for f—-with me. Remember, I did this.”
Brian Coll, 47, of Smithtown, L.I., was found guilty of depriving inmate Ronald Spear of his civil rights under color of law, and of four other charges in connection with the filing of false reports on the attack. The jury deliberated less than four hours following the 10-day trial.
