The FDNY formally launched its firefighter recruitment campaign last week, announcing the slogan “all heroes welcome” in anticipation of the first open competitive exam for firefighters administered in seven years.
“We are calling on the best, the brightest and the bravest in our city,” FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh said as she kickstarted the campaign during a press event last Tuesday. "People from all neighborhoods and all backgrounds who share one common goal: the desire to serve our city, New York City, and save lives."
