Mayor Bloomberg last week alleged that the Correction Officers Benevolent Association had ordered an “outrageous illegal” job action on Rikers Island and promised an investigation as well as disciplinary action against any officers involved.
COBA declined to comment on the issue, which involved dozens of buses that were supposed to transport inmates to courthouses but Nov. 18 and 19 were prevented from leaving the island because of supposed maintenance issues.
