Local 372 of District Council 37, which represents about 20,000 Department of Education employees, is planning to sue the de Blasio administration over a gender-based pay gap that it says has depressed wages for School Crossing Guards.
Approximately 3,000 of the guards, most of them female, earn considerably less than male-dominated Traffic Enforcement Agents, according to Local 372 attorney Arthur Z. Schwartz.
