Fire Battalion Chief Michael J. Fahy, a 17-year FDNY veteran, was killed just after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in an explosion at a Bronx home that police were investigating as a possible marijuana grow house. Nine other firefighters and at least three others on the scene were injured.
Chief Fahy was leading operations as more than 100 firefighters investigated an odor of gas in the house, at 300 West 234th St. near Tibbett Ave. in the Kingsbridge neighborhood.
