The city lost one of its longest-serving civil servants when 80-year-old Frank Pezza was struck and killed during his commute home Dec. 20 in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.
According to local press reports, he was hit by two vehicles after he got off the bus at 6:30 p.m., just 150 feet from his home. Police said rain and road conditions were contributing factors. No one was charged.
