Court Officer Unions’ Advice to Members: Cooperate With ICE

The city’s two Court Officers’ unions have advised their members not to interfere with Federal immigration officers who come to courthouses in search of illegal immigrants, in contrast with the de Blasio administration policy of non-cooperation.

“If an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officer comes to the courthouse, we’ll let them in, they’ll go to the courtroom and there it will be up to the judge,” Dennis Quirk, president of the New York State Court Officers Association, said in an interview last week.
