Vincent Ricciardo, aka “Vinny Unions” to his mob-tied colleagues, was sentenced this week to 51 months in prison for his role in a shakedown of a high-ranking Queens construction union official.
The longtime Colombo crime family captain, 77, had pleaded guilty last July in Brooklyn federal court to racketeering, loansharking and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Ricciardo was also ordered to forfeit $350,000 and to pay $280,890 in restitution to the union by U.S. District Judge Hector Gonzalez. He also cannot associate with labor unions or their associated funds following his release. He had faced the possibility of 20 years behind bars.
