Incredibly, Michigan has now joined the ranks of the “right-to-work” (RTW) states, bringing the national total to 24. In a blitzkrieg-like attack, Republican state lawmakers rammed through two RTW laws in a lame-duck session without public hearings or debate. This rush to legislate was precipitated by the November election in which the GOP saw its majority in the Michigan Legislature shrink enough that passage next year was far less likely.
