A Queens Supreme Court Justice May 25 ordered that Jessica Beauvais, who while allegedly intoxicated drove her car into Police Officer Anastasio Tsakos and killed him as he tried to redirect traffic following an earlier fatal accident, remain behind bars while facing charges that include criminally negligent homicide and several counts of manslaughter.
If convicted of the top charges in the 13-count indictment brought by the Queens District Attorney's Office, Ms. Beauvais faces up to 15 years in prison.
