A disbarred Westchester County lawyer and former NYPD Detective has been sentenced to 51 months in prison for stealing almost $1 million from a former police colleague whose 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund claim he handled.
U.S. District Judge Vincent L. Briccetti also ordered Gustavo Vila, 62, of Yorktown Heights, to serve an additional three years' supervised release, forfeit $922,559 and pay $867,870 in restitution.
