Just a few months after securing a contract ratified by 95 percent of voting members, the longtime head of the local representing traffic enforcement agents has been ousted by his vice president.
In a runoff election for CWA Local 1182 officers conducted by mail-in ballot from late January through mid-February, Alexander Sadik bested Syed Rahim 729 to 525, or roughly 58 percent to 42 percent, with the margin of defeat for the incumbent a likely reflection of member discontent following findings of financial improprieties within the local and a sexual harassment claim levied against Rahim.
