Mayor Eric Adams’ administration has once again delayed the release of documents generated by the city in the weeks after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The pushback, announced Dec. 14 by the World Trade Center survivor organization 9/11 Health Watch, is the 10th that the Adams administration has carried out since 9/11 Health Watch submitted a Freedom of Information Law request for the documents on March 19, 2023.
Under its current timeline, the city now has until March of next year to produce documents pertaining to the FOIL request. But city leaders could easily institute a further, 11th delay next year if they choose to.
