Politicians running for office around the country are trying to figure out what is the cause of Zohran Mamdani’s success as a political novice. The political pundits point out factors including the intense focus on affordability, a successful effort to get younger voters’ support, extensive grassroots efforts, and his successful building of a broad coalition of many demographic groups.
While these political strategies are necessary and effective to win elections, there is more to beating the corrupt Trump cult than these strategies.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Senator Jon Ossoff, and Senator Raphael Warnock are examples of leaders with personal character traits that not one, not even one, in the Trump party-cult possess. They are honest, sincere, unbiased, fair minded and seek justice for all.
They are not afraid to speak what they believe to be the truth even when they pay a heavy price, politically and personally. These are qualities and moral values that they developed over their lifetimes and can’t be learned on the political stage or in The Actors' Studio.
Only a victory by Democrats in the upcoming elections can protect our democracy, our Constitution, and our judicial system from the Trump party attack on all of our valued institutions and personal values.
