Labor will again play an outsize role in November

2 in 10 votes will be union-made

There is no time on the political calendar when organized labor’s benediction is more sought out than in the months and weeks when the presidential race enters its homestretch. 

With just under 10 weeks left until Election Day, both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris and their running mates have made their overtures to labor leaders and to the rank and file in bids to secure their sanction. Most large unions have by now made their endorsements. How much those will matter in an ideologically split nation is as yet unclear.
