Lunch hour at the DMV is not what it used to be.
Policies in place since February designed to minimize the risk of COVID contagion at the Department of Motor Vehicles require Administrative Law Judges to eat and drink alone, within either their hearing rooms or, in the case of the Traffic Violations Bureau in Jamaica, Queens, a nearby conference space—which also functions as an isolation chamber for staff who might have been exposed to the virus.
