The city’s public hospital system has hired more than 1,000 nurses over the last eight months as part of its goal to reduce its reliance on temporary nurses.
The number of full- and part-time nurses working at NYC Health + Hospitals has reached 9,600, Mayor Eric Adams and Mitchell Katz, the president and CEO of the hospital system, announced Monday.
