A former Brooklyn Supreme Court justice was sentenced to 15 months in prison for obstructing a federal investigation of embezzlement at the Municipal Credit Union, the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office announced April 20.
Sylvia Ash, who served as a member of MCU’s board from 2008 until 2016, was convicted in December for conspiracy to obstruct justice, obstruction of justice and making a false statement to a federal agent in an attempt to throw off investigators probing millions of dollars in theft from the credit union.
