To the Editor: Mayor-elect Eric Adams, wants to reinstate foot-patrol cops in order to build trust with members of communities and reduce crime. In my opinion, having done 10 years of my police career on patrol, there are problems that Adams and his Police Commissioner will face with foot patrols.
First, there are not nearly enough police officers to assign foot-patrol officers, with limited mobility, to most areas of the city.
