A retired NYPD Lieutenant who was second-in-command of the department’s troubled gun-licensing operation pleaded guilty in Federal Court Aug. 16 to charges involving bribery by crooked civilian expediters seeking weapons permits for sometimes sketchy clients.
Paul Dean, 44, of Wantagh, L.I., pleaded to one count of conspiracy to commit bribery. He faces up to five years in prison when sentenced Nov. 15.
