A former fraud investigator with the New York City Department of Homeless Services who impersonated homeless people to fraudulently obtain Covid unemployment benefits has been sentenced to 27 months in prison, federal authorities said.
Olabanji Otufale, 41, of Brooklyn, and a co-conspirator had pleaded guilty in July in U.S. District Court to counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
