More than 80 educators working in city public schools were placed on unpaid leave April 25 for allegedly submitting fake Covid-19 vaccination cards, prompting the United Federation of Teachers to take legal action against the Department of Education.
Schools Chancellor David Banks said that after a “thorough” probe, investigators found that a few dozen of the school system’s 143,000 employees provided false proof of vaccination.
