After nine years of college studies, Tom Reingold found the rigors of coursework too difficult and dropped out of Hunter College in 1987 without receiving a degree.
He went on to work in medical research, eventually carving out a 40-year career in tech. But something was scratching at him, and he returned to Hunter in 2019. In June, Reingold received a degree in computer science. He is now a teaching fellow in city public schools.
