A coalition of Columbia University students is urging classmates to withhold tuition for the upcoming semester to protest the university endowment’s investments in companies the students say are contracted by the Israeli government or operate in Israeli-occupied territories.
More than 200 students have committed to not paying their tuition and another 160 have expressed interest in joining the action, according to Lexy Pryor, a junior engineering student and strike organizer.
