A Correction Officer suffered a broken nose and five fractured bones in an eye socket on Dec. 30 after being attacked by an inmate being held at the Manhattan Detention Center, according to the head of the Correction Officers’ union.
According to records, the assault was the second such incident involving the 22-year-old inmate.
