The Board of Collective Bargaining has ruled that a handful of attorneys who handle administrative discipline for the NYPD are entitled to union representation.
The title at issue is Assistant Advocate-PD. The NYPD Department Advocate’s Office, which deals with administrative prosecutions of uniformed and civilian employees, had 15 AAPDs and 11 Agency Attorneys as of May 2013, the board found. Agency Attorneys are represented by the Civil Service Bar Association.
