The newly minted cops are joining up with more tested colleagues, Commissioner Keechant Sewell told the graduates, “during a time of significant challenges,” alluding to rising crime citywide.
Still, The Job, as it’s known inside 1 Police Plaza, “is not for everyone,” Sewell continued. “Not many can do what you will do, what you swore to do, what you trained for months to do, what this city is counting on the NYPD to do.”
