The Chief-Leader, which has been owned by the Prial family for the past 102 years, has been sold to Ben August.

The newspaper, which was founded in 1897, was sold to Frank J. Prial in 1919 and has continued to be owned and operated by family members since, most recently Ed Prial as publisher and his brother Joe as secretary and treasurer.

They chose Mr. August as the buyer with the expectation that he would carry on its journalistic traditions while expanding its readership.
