Report 1: Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. overruled his prosecutors and chose not to bring fraud charges against two of President Trump’s children regarding false statements they made aimed at goosing apartment sales. He accepted a campaign donation from Mr. Trump’s lawyer, but said his actions were not influenced by such gifts.
Report 2: Mr. Vance overruled NYPD Detectives and chose not to bring sex-abuse charges against movie producer Harvey Weinstein, who was outed last week by the New York Times and the New Yorker as a harasser of perhaps 30 women over a period of more than 25 years. The DA accepted a donation from one of Mr. Weinstein’s lawyers, but said his actions were not influenced by such gifts.
