City police officers could be fired if they use excessive force or a prohibited restraint on a person even if they cause no injuries, according to a recently released draft of proposed penalties for officers convicted of misconduct.
In an echo of the April killing of George Floyd by a Minneapolis officer, officers could also face termination if they did not intervene when unauthorized deadly force by another officer resulted in a serious injury or death.
