The more-collegial reception Mayor Adams got Feb. 14 when he came to Albany to argue for changes in the state's bail-reform and Raise the Age laws—just five days after several lawmakers told him in a remote meeting that they weren't going to budge—hinted that there may be something to the adage that 90 percent of life is just showing up.
"We agree on that we have to make sure our city is safe," he told reporters after emerging from separate meetings with the Democratic majorities in both the Assembly and State Senate. "I shared my thoughts, they shared their thoughts. It was a very healthy dialogue."
