Family of PATH Worker Killed By COVID-19 Files Suit Faulting PA

A lawsuit filed in Hudson County, N.J. by the family of a Port Authority Trans Hudson rail worker who died from COVID-19 alleges that it was the Port Authority's negligence that "recklessly exposed" him to the virus.

The lawsuit on behalf of the family of Robert Elijah, 61, a Power Rail Mechanic and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 864, was filed under the Federal Employers' Liability Act, which protects railroad workers who are not covered by state Workers' Compensation laws.
