Police Commissioner William J. Bratton promoted 229 uniformed and 64 civilian staff members in ceremonies June 26 at Police Headquarters. Those advancing included three Deputy Chiefs, six Inspectors and four high-level civilians.
Andrew J. Capul, Patrol Borough Manhattan North Operations Commander, is one of the three new Deputy Chiefs. He has been with the NYPD since 1984. Previous high-level posts included Patrol Borough Manhattan North Administrator and special-projects director, commander of the 34th and Central Park precincts and executive officer of the 33rd Precinct.
