Dev Daniels has come a long way from selling weed on Atlanta’s illicit market. Now a budtender at Yerba Buena, a legal recreational cannabis dispensary in Brooklyn, Daniels and his coworkers are given samples of new strains, edible cannabis gummies, tinctures and more so that they can recommend products to curious cannabis customers.
But since Daniels and 17 of their coworkers unionized last month with Local 338 of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, the budtender says the sample bags put together by Yerba Buena management have fewer products in them, and are doled out to eager employees less frequently.
