“Imagine I ran and I won,” Success Academy CEO Eva Moskowitz said Oct. 8 in explaining her decision not to run for Mayor in 2017.
“One of my first conversations would be with [United Federation of Teachers President] Mike Mulgrew,” she said. “Imagine how that conversation would go. I would be saying we have massive educational failure that disproportionately affects black and brown children and we need to fundamentally rethink every aspect of schooling. And we need to eliminate early 20th-century work rules that are not about teaching and learning. How do you think that would go?”
