To the Editor: Since Donald Trump became President, no person or agency had been able to hold him to a fixed position on any issue. He changes his mind from one tweet to the next and from one second to the next—until he faced the Commission on Presidential Debates.
When Trump said he would not participate in the second presidential debate if it was not in person, face to face, most commentators and members of both political parties speculated that he would change his mind, probably more than once, before the date set for the debate.
