Ongoing issues with bus operators’ two-way radios are creating serious safety concerns for the workers and all New Yorkers who ride buses, the president of Transport Workers Union Local 100 insisted last week.
“There are numerous bus operators who are unable to reach command at the push of a button like they should be able to,” John Chiarello told reporters assembled in Local 100’s Downtown Brooklyn headquarters Jan. 29. “This is a very, very serious issue.”
