Could order company to bargain with Essex Crossing workers

Trader Joe’s managers and supervisors violated labor law in the lead up to last year’s union election at the supermarket chain’s downtown location, the National Labor Relations Board's Manhattan office alleged in a complaint this week. 

If the allegations are substantiated following a January hearing, the NLRB could compel Trader Joe’s to bargain with workers in the store under the new “Cemex” standard, despite the staff's vote against unionizing.
