In the wake of Michael Carrube’s reelection to a third five-year term as president of the Subway-Surface Supervisors Association last month, accusations that the longtime union leader quashes dissent are reemerging.
Among the most prominent of the SSSA’s leader’s critics is Robert Hemlall, the union’s former section vice president of the car equipment division, who, following a complaint filed against him in September 2023, was removed from office and barred from running in last year’s union election.
