A few of our stories and columns are now in front of the paywall. We at The Chief-Leader remain committed to independent reporting on labor and civil service. It's been our mission since 1897. You can have a hand in ensuring that our reporting remains relevant in the decades to come. Consider supporting The Chief, which you can do for as little as $3.20 a month.

Strategizing

To the editor:

I have posted previously on this very page letters detailing why Trump won, as well as suggested viewing of YouTube videos with comments from the people that hired Trump — the voters — explaining why Trump won. This has been met in the Chief’s letters section with deflection, distraction and distortion. "It's racism," the letter writers say.

I have suggested networking with Democrats locally and nationally to attempt to come up with a viable candidate for 2028. These two suggestions have been met with silence. Some letter writers blame a complicit Congress. Another suggestion is to complain to members of Congress countrywide.

I ask those letter writers this: who is president? Did relentless letter writing and complaining to a civil service newspaper accomplish anything? Is it maybe time for new tactics?
