State Police troopers ratify agreements

About 4,000 officers within two units of the State Police represented by the Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers have ratified three-year collective bargaining agreements providing annual 3-percent salary bumps, lump-sum bonuses and increased in fully paid parental leave. 

The retroactive agreements, which run from April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2026, cover more than 3,100 officers who conduct road patrol and law enforcement in rural areas and who operate various State Police stations and about 830 majors, captains, lieutenants and various levels of sergeants in the commissioned officer/non-commissioned officer unit officers. The latter contingent are responsible for supervising troopers and investigators in the Division of State Police.
