Workers at the airport transport company SkyHop Global thought that walking out on strike just before Thanksgiving — the start of the busiest season for the company — would be enough to convince management to agree to a first union contract.
By the time they went on strike Nov. 24, it had been six months since 60 workers voted to unionize with Teamsters Local 210. Their three bargaining sessions with the company had gone nowhere, with the union alleging the company was bargaining in bad faith.
