Police Commissioner Dermot Shea tested positive for the coronavirus but was doing fine and running the department from home, according to a brief Jan. 8 statement from the NYPD.
“Police Commissioner @NYPDShea has tested positive for COVID. He’s doing well. He’s in touch with his executive staff on a regular basis. He’s staying home and he is running the Police Department remotely,” the NYPD tweeted late Friday morning.
