Sergeants Benevolent Association president Vincent Vallelong and the union's executive board have been nominated without opposition to serve another four-year term, marking the second consecutive election cycle in which the incumbent leadership has run unopposed.
The nominations, announced by the SBA, mean Vallelong and the current executive board are set to continue leading the union that represents NYPD sergeants for another four-year term which began July 1. The union's leadership begins this term as it continues to navigate contract negotiations, reported staffing concerns and labor relations under the city's new administration.
