The U.S. Secret Service is accepting applications for special agents through Dec. 31. Annual base salary for the position starts at $48,371, with promotion potential increasing pay to $117,034 depending on locality pay and duty station. Special agents receive an additional 25 percent Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP) to compensate for irregular hours. A recruitment incentive of up to $40,000 may be offered to select applicants who sign a three-year service agreement.
