To the editor:
The Oct. 17 full page anti-Mamdani statement from Transit Supervisors TWU Local 106 relies on the boogeyman as it uses the word radical four times and socialist three times. It makes no reference to the #1 reason why Mamdani is unfit for mayor — that he has absolutely no experience. In addition, asking all NYC employees and residents to defeat Mamdani but offering no endorsement to either of the two other candidates is baffling.
The continued use of the terms communism, socialism and Marxism have found their way into everyday politics by people who can't even define any of those terms. It's time to read up a little and stop relying on TikTok and Instagram posts.
