The head of the NYPD’s largest union is skeptical that Mayor Eric Adams’ pledge to boost the number of cops by 5,000 within a few years can ease the department’s attrition challenges.
Adams last week said his administration would dedicate funding to bolster the NYPD’s ranks by that many officers over the next three years, and bring the number of cops to 40,000, the department’s largest headcount in two decades.
