The Police Benevolent Association has asked the state labor board to intervene in contract negotiations between the union and the city after four bargaining sessions have yet to produce a wage proposal, setting the stage for what could become the first significant labor dispute of Mayor Zohran Mamdani's administration.
The PBA has filed a declaration of impasse with Public Employment Relations Board, first reported by Politico, after alleging that the new administration 'refuses' to meaningfully engage with the union.
